Fall Recreational Soccer FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are these teams coed?
A: All teams and age divisions (except for maybe U5) are intended to be gender specific (boys compete w/ boys; girls w/ girls). However, we reserve the right to make an age division co-ed if numbers dictate this.

Q: When are practices held?
A: For the U8 division and above we hold practices from Monday through Thursday at either 6:00 or 7:00.  We do not designate specific days and times until the teams and coaches are assigned.  For U6 divisions there is only one practice per week, and for U5 we do not hold dedicated practice sessions.

Q: When does the Season Start?
A: We begin practice sessions on October 15th.  The first game will be played on November 3rd, and continue on Saturdays running to the end of January.  We do take time off during the holiday breaks.

Q:  Is there an end of season tournament?
A: End of season tournament for U8 -U12 is from 2/1/19 through 2/3/19.

Q: What fields will the practices and games be played?
A: All U5-U12 games are played at Wesley Chapel District Park (MAP) located at:  7727 Boyette Road, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543

Q:  What if my child is too old for the Fall Recreation league (Birth year 2005 or older)
A:  All U14 Age group and older WCSC teams will be playing in the Recreational League under TARSA (click here for details)

Q: What is inlcuded with my registration?
A: Registration fee includes: U5 and U6- 8 game season: U8, U10, U12 at least a 10 game season (depending on tournament run); 2 game jerseys, practice jersey (U8 and up only), game shorts, and game socks.  It also covers: light fees, paint fees, registration and insurance fees, referee fees for games, admin and advertising costs;  up to two practices per week during the season and a buy out for volunteering.  Our coaches are not paid, and the concession must be maned during our game days.  In order to prevent concessions from being unmanned we have included a $10.00 buy out.  This is a mandatory fee each registrant must pay.  However, you can get that money back by supporting the concession stand with 2 hours of volunteer time.

Q:  What is not included with my registration fee.
A:  Each player is responsible for his/her own shin guards, cleats, and an appropriate sized soccer ball.

Q: How do I know which Age Division my child should sign up for.
A:  The registration software is intelligent enough to direct you to the correct age group.  However, for your information this Age Group Chart will also help you in understanding how the age divisions are formed.  Keep in mind for recreational soccer (non-TARSA), we only support U5, U6, U8, U10, and U12.   (This is a difference from competitive and is similar to all Tampa area in house leagues) The age group chart will explain it all.
