U16 Girls Take Gold at Disney President’s Day Cup

The Wesley Chapel Soccer Club U16 Girls team visited Disney during the President’s Day weekend, but it wasn’t for the rides. They were there to play soccer, and play they did.  The team went undefeated during the weekend, taking home the championship in the Gold division at the Disney President’s Day Cup.
The U16 Girls started play with a tie against rivals Pinecrest Premier.  While controlling play, the team could not find the winning goal.  The team then came back strong against South Orlando, dominating to a 6-0 win. Their last pool game and following championship game were both against the Dakota Revolution Riot from Minnesota.  The Wesley Chapel Girls cruised to a 3-1 victory, then a 2-0 winning performance to earn the championship.

Head Coach Fredi Moore commented, “our girls displayed the right combination of skilled play and competitiveness, and showed their quality in earning the championship.”
The U16 Girls are now preparing for upcoming the State Cup tournament, with play starting April 16-17th.
Additionally, we want to recognize both the U11 Boys and U15 Girls teams, who also participated in the Disney President’s Day Cup and represented our club well.
